Financial policy and insurance at Princess Elizabeth Dental

Payment options

For your convenience our clinic accepts cash, cheques, VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and debit cards as payment. We endeavour to deliver quality care at a reasonable cost for our patients, therefore payment is due at the time service is rendered unless other arrangements have been made in advance. If you have questions regarding your account or quoted fees, please contact us. Many times, a simple telephone call will clear up any confusion. In some cases we are able to accept direct payment from insurance companies for our general practice patients, for simple treatments and providing we are able to determine how much reimbursement to expect. Again, if you require these arrangements, please make them in advance.

If you require further payment arrangements, such as a payment plan or financing, we will gladly try to help you with this; however these arrangements must be made prior to scheduling treatment.

Dental insurance

Your dental plan is a form of compensation provided by your employer. You can expect the carrier (insurance company) to reimburse you (or occasionally us) for some portion of dental fees for certain common procedures. That portion is determined by the contract between your employer and the insurance company. The higher the premium paid by your company, the more generous the reimbursement. Every plan is different, and they will change from time to time.

Although we are not a party to the contractual arrangement with your insurance company, we are able to help by submitting your claim for you in most cases. Our clinic is equipped with EDI, which is a paperless electronic claims submission service to help you get reimbursed as quickly as possible, often in a matter of 4-5 days. Our staff will submit your insurance claim and reasonable supporting documents as a courtesy to you.

If you require extensive treatment, you have the option of submitting a “pre-determination of dental benefits” to your carrier to help determine how much reimbursement you may expect. This is not mandatory, but is an option, and again our staff will assist you with this.
